Our Flight of the Crone retreats are designed to be therapeutic as well as contribute towards the ocean of wisdoms that are held within each one of us, as elder women.
In pre-modern cultures, the elder women were entrusted with the stories of the tribe, and their storytelling contributions formed an integral part of the spiritual well-being of the collective. Their many years of life on Earth meant that they had accumulated a wealth of experience of interactions with the mystical. This was not just acknowledged, it was honoured.
In our modern era, the voices of women have been muted. The voices of the wise elder woman have been silenced. We are not invited to share our wisdoms. It’s assumed perhaps that we have none worth sharing. This assumption is incorrect.
If you are reading this, chances are you are an elder woman who has had more than one mystical experience in your lifetime. Experiences which cannot be explained in logical terms. A series of these, over time, form a pattern of deeply spiritual growth and unlock profound wisdoms, if one is open to it. Sharing these experiences with trusted others can open up new pathways for spiritual expansion and integrated connection, and provide therapeutic comfort on your journey of personal revelations.
It can be difficult though to share one’s stories when so vulnerable. A safe space is not always available. With our Flight of the Crone retreats the aim is to open this safe space for mystical storytelling, so that all elder women with a story to share can join us, knowing that their stories are sacred and respected. All stories will be received in grace and without judgement.
Equally, the role of compassionate and respectful listener is vitally important. We are all Shamans in our own way and everyone who participates in our journeys contributes towards the energy of creation. It’s not required that you share your stories If you are not a storyteller, or not yet ready to share. The act of listening and receiving the energy of the related wisdoms becomes part of a dynamic interaction within the group, and with Source energy, which is invaluable in itself.
We will also be co-creating stories as a group and receiving wisdoms from our shared group energy, as well as that of Source. We will share more about this at the retreats.
As well as the Flight of the Crone retreats, I have also been guided to create an anthology of Crone Wisdom stories. The suggestion is that this collaboration between Source energy and us elder women can serve as a mystical repository of the wisdoms that we have held safe within us for so long. It can serve as a reflection and validation of our own spiritual path, and offer insights or resonance for deeper connection to Source, for our growing tribe.
As such, with each Flight of the Crone retreat, we will ask storytellers if they will be willing to allow their stories to be added to our anthology. Not everyone will feel open to this and that is understandable. If you are drawn to contribute, your story will be safeguarded and respected in the ways which make you, as the co-creator, feel comfortable.
